案件背景

Agridime 经营一家在线平台，声称允许客户购买和销售牛，并向受害者保证

每年至少获得 15%至 20%的固定利率回报。正如宣传的那样，Agridime 的计划

为客户提供了无需对牛进行日常养护工作即可对其进行购买和销售的机会，正如

Agridime 在招揽资料中所述，买方将“不必做所有工作就可以养牛赚钱”。

据称，Agridime 养牛计划中，顾客以每头 2,000 美元的价格购买牛，而

Agridime 将负责通过与其合作的农民照料和饲养牛，直到其成熟并被销售。

诉状称，Agridime 声称客户的资金将仅用于购买、饲养和喂养其购买的牛。

但是，由于 Agridime 没有购买足够数量的牛来履行其在牲畜合同下的义务，其

CFTC Charges Agridime and Its Co-Founders with a Fraudulent Cattle Scheme

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today announced it filed a civil

enforcement action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas

against Agridime LLC, a Texas corporation, and its co-founders, Joshua Link of

Gilbert, Arizona and Jed Wood of Ft. Worth, Texas.

The complaint alleges the defendants engaged in a scheme to defraud thousands

of customers in at least 14 states by soliciting, accepting, and using customers’ funds

to pay undisclosed commissions and used later customers' funds to pay profits to

earlier customers, in the manner of a Ponzi scheme, rather than for the purposes

Agridime represented those funds would be used. Agridime claimed the funds would
